Ale Municipality
Ale municipality stretches along the Göta River and borders the city of Gothenburg. Kungälv, Lilla Edet, Trollhättan, Alingsås and Lerum municipalities.
The municipality has in recent years had a population growth of over 2%, which makes demands the municipal organization to adapt to the growing population. The organization’s long-term development goals and the vision for Ale’s work is – “Easy to live”.
It should be easy to live regardless of background or affiliation with culture and religion. To implement the vision, democracy work is an opportunity to increase competence, tolerance and understanding between people. Democratic work also helps to create a sustainable society within the three goals of the sustainability dimensions – ecological, social and economic sustainability.
All strategic goals that the municipality has are linked to Agenda 2030’s seventeen different goals. This means that the municipality continuously follows up and works with agenda 2030’s goal picture.
In addition to goal 4, good education for all, the project supports a number of other global goals such as poverty, health and well-being, gender equality, reducing inequality and implementation and global partnership.
To deal with these complex societal challenges requires many actors engage together to achieve change and learn from each other. A democratic exchange between generations is an opportunity to work according to these principles.
The culture and leisure sector works for increased goal fulfillment of all the municipality’s goals. Especially central is reduced inequality for all, which supports and improves social sustainability as well as peaceful and inclusive societies.
